The Somebodies wear fancy dresses, have perfect shiny hair, smokey eye makeup, an ability to dance weird but still look good, and I WANT TO BE ONE OF THEM. They’re pretty and confident, and I imagine it’s easy to be bold when you look amazing, but they’re particularly skilled at incredible self-assurance in Just The Right Amount. They’re usually very nice, and even when they’re not, I know they don’t mean it. They’re just busy. And at least they know my name. Even if The Somebodies don’t understand my astounding reservation, they are sweet enough to try, to simplify the capture of courage, compare their younger selves to me now, and at the edge of the dance floor, over the music, and amidst happy flailing bodies, tell me I’m fine.
